Lateef Adedimeji Reacts To Oyo Schoolchildren Abduction, Calls For Urgent Action

Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has reacted to the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State, expressing deep concern over the incident and its emotional impact on affected families.

In a post shared on his Twitter page, the actor noted that while many Nigerians marked Children’s Day in celebration, several families were instead left in pain as their children remain in the custody of kidnappers at unknown locations.

He added that, as a father, he understands the emotional trauma such a situation brings, while questioning the effectiveness of authorities and their repeated assurances on security.

Lateef called on relevant authorities to ensure the safe return of the abducted children, urging swift action and greater responsibility in handling the crisis.

His statement read in part:
“Before you sleep tonight, remember many families celebrated Children’s Day in pain, because their children are held up by kidnappers in places no one knows… This is our reality. As a father, I know what this means…”

The actor further urged authorities to act decisively, insisting that rescuing the victims remains the only honourable course of action.
