Nigeria’s Escalating Insecurity And Oyo Kidnappings Anger Iyabo Ojo

“This is not about APC or Tinubu” – Iyabo Ojo fumes over Oyo kidnappings, rising insecurity in Nigeria

In response to the recent spate of kidnappings in Oyo State, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo expressed alarm over the nation’s growing insecurity.

The actress bemoaned the growing bandit activity in several parts of Nigeria and questioned the role of security authorities in a widely shared video.

“This is not about APC is not doing well, Tinubu is not doing well. We ourselves are not ready because we are too afraid. We are too afraid to speak and to stand by the truth,” she said.

Iyabo Ojo further questioned how bandits continue to invade communities, abduct residents and carry out attacks despite the presence of military personnel meant to protect citizens.

She also called on the government and security agencies to explain the challenges they are facing, insisting that she refuses to believe criminals are stronger than the Nigerian military.

“What is going on? Are these people more than you military men who are supposed to be in charge of protecting the lives and property of your citizens?” she queried.

The video has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians agreeing with her concerns while others debated the responsibility of both the government and citizens in tackling insecurity.

The actress’ remarks continue to trend on social media as discussions grow over the increasing cases of kidnappings and attacks across the country.
